Ali Fitness

Ali's sessions take a traditional aerobics style approach with the key emphasis being fun! The classes have been running for 31 years at the community centre site and still has some of its original members! All abilities are welcome as the session can be done high or low impact to suit. The sessions are 60 mins with time for a tea, coffee and a natter afterwards. There is also a crèche facility available. Price is £4 per session (includes coffee/ tea).

Baby Ballet

Babyballet is a fun, award-winning pre-school dance concept for girls and boys from 6 months to 6 years. With a real focus on learning through play, the unique babyballet syllabus offers four key stages of ballet and tap classes where every child can build their confidence and social skills, learning manners, discipline and respect while developing their basic ballet technique, coordination, musicality, balance, posture and rhythm. 

Babyballet's fully qualified, friendly and engaging dance teachers are joined in class by the babyballet bears, Twinkle & Teddy, who help to encourage all the little stars to interact and share as they learn to dance without any pressure.

Chatter Chairs

Chatter Chairs is a new chair-based exercise project, funded through Brightlife, which offers people 50yrs+ the opportunity to improve their strength and flexibility in a friendly group setting. Using hand weights and resistance equipment, this class is aimed at those looking to improve their fitness whilst also offering an opportunity to meet new people. There are two sessions available (45mins each) which start at 1.00pm and 2.00pm with free tea & coffee available in the café area for those participating and for accompanying carers before and after each session. Cost £3 per session.

Chester Childminders Association

Drop-in sessions on a Wednesday morning are for all childminders, allowing them to socialise with their children and share information and activities while having fun and making new friends. Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is designed to improve muscular strength and core stability, and helps to align, shape, and tone the body. The moves are mat-based and incorporate resistance bands and slow movements to provide an excellent choice for anyone looking to return to fitness. Pilates costs £6 per session on a pay-as-you-go basis.

A Rabble game is an hour of immersive team games. Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules. Everyone is welcome; it doesn't matter what your fitness level or background are.

The Rabble sessions last for 1 hour and consist of a variety of games so that we cover different fitness areas and skills, including speed, endurance, co-ordination, agility, reaction times, strength, and more. Don’t worry - you're not expected to know how to play. Because we play so many different games, we assume the rules are new to everyone, so we always explain the rules before we begin each game.

Senior Keep Fit

Come and join in this ever-popular fitness class designed for the senior exerciser. The session offers a great variety of exercises to improve cardio fitness and a circuit training round to strengthen muscles using a variety of light weights. The class finishes with exercises which help to improve core strength, balance, and co-ordination. The Senior Keep Fit sessions cost £4 on a pay-as-you-go basis.

The yoga class is suitable for complete beginners and offers a chance to learn yoga postures and practices in a supportive and friendly environment. We start with a brief centring practice, which helps us to tune in with our body and mind in preparation for the practice. Following this, we work through a series of postures, with variations and alterations always available depending on individual needs. The session ends with a 10-minute period of guided relaxation, a chance to completely unwind and absorb all the goodness from your physical practice. Classes are £6 drop in or £42 for an 8 x class card (giving one free week) which is valid for 3 months. X My Art

Hello, I'm Chris, a neighbour and also your friendly resident local artist! ...if you want to take up a new creative hobby but not sure how to get started, then why not sign up to X my Art (or Cross my Art)? It is a 10 week fun and focused art course where you get to 'dip your toe' into a range of creative waters and find out where your particular skills are best suited. Throughout the course, I will take you through the basics of drawing and painting as well as printmaking and mixed media techniques, incorporating tried and tested methods along with the less conventional, to get those creative juices flowing and the old grey matter working!

The cost of the course is £150 per person, broken down into 2 payments of £75.00; the first to secure your place and the second payable at the first session or just before. This cost equates to £7.50 per hour and, as all the necessary equipment and basic materials are supplied along with tea, coffee and biscuits at each session, is very competitive and excellent value for money. The sessions are 2 hours and a new 10 week programme is due to start early 2019 so please get in touch for more info.
