X My Art
Hello, I'm Chris, a neighbour and also your friendly resident local artist! ...if you want to take up a new creative hobby but not sure how to get started, then why not sign up to my new course starting in September? X my Art (or Cross my Art) is a 10 week fun and focussed art course where you get to 'dip your toe' into a range of creative waters and find out where your particular skills are best suited. Throughout the course, I will take you through the basics of drawing and painting as well as printmaking and mixed media techniques, incorporating tried and tested methods along with the less conventional, to get those creative juices flowing and the old grey matter working!
I've been running recreational arts and craft workshops and courses for adults of all ages and ability levels, since 2007 and have taught a wide range of people looking to broaden their social horizons and learn a something new; from the total beginner to the enthusiastic dabbler, my teaching style is to deliver a structured and valuable learning experience with a strong emphasis on fun and building up the confidence of my students as enhancement of well-being is the desired outcome. My philosophy is, if you have enjoyed yourself, I have achieved my objective and can go home happy!
The cost of the course is £150 per person, broken down into 2 simple payments of £75.00; the first to secure your place and the second payable at the first session or just before. This cost equates to £7.50 per hour and, as all the necessary equipment and basic materials are supplied along with tea, coffee and biscuits at each session, is very competitive and excellent value for money. The sessions are for 2 hours every Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm in the main hall at Vicars Cross Community Centre, beginning on September 5th through to November 14th, excluding the October half term holidays.
